Gaspeite is a rare, pale green to light grass green nickel iron manganese carbonate and is named after the first locality it was found: the Gaspé Peninsula in Canada.

Australian gaspeite occurs mainly in two different locations, both of them south of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
